O casal não está em um bom momento, depois que Kristen não aceitou casar com James. Enquanto eles tentam se reconstruir, um trio de desconhecidos passam a assustá-los. Eu vi o primeiro filme da trilogia do remake de 2024 que basicamente é a história desse filme. Mas quanta diferença! Como é possível um filme que é basicamente uma cópia do original. mudando pouca coisa, sair tão abaixo? E olha que Liv Tyler e Scott Speedman não são tão bons atores assim. Temos que valorizar o trabalho do roteirista e diretor Bryan Bertino que, fez um roteiro redondo, dá personalidade aos personagens, pois somos pegos pela história da negativa do pedido de casamento, além de saber montar todo um clima de tensão no ar, com o ataque do trio. The—"Because you were home"—is pure cringe. The film strains desperately to embody motive-free evil, to smugly declare that horror needs no reason, as if that's some groundbreaking philosophical flex. They hype the line like it's destined for immortality, jamming it into the trailer as the hook. But iconic lines don't become legendary in a vacuum; they earn their weight because the surrounding movie is legendary. "Luke, I am your father" or "I killed Mufasa" aren't magic words—they're immortal because the films that delivered them are masterpieces. This chased that status backward, assuming the quote alone would carry the weight. It doesn't. The movie lacks the self-awareness to see how forced and hollow it lands. It's made for people whose lives are so monotonous that any horror flick feels profound simply because it jolts their emotional flatline. empty, underwhelming, & forgettable. They simply remove the masks and stab them? Is that the end? It feels disappointing, especially considering the strong setup they built. This could have been much better.
